We began our photography journey using film cameras. Actually, our first cameras, long before photography would become our career, were film cameras.
While we could give you our long list of reasons we love film, we'd rather keep It short and say that we love the timelessness of film photography. From an editing perspective, it’s not subjected to the editing trend du jour. When a film camera takes a picture, the camera lens exposes the film strip to an image that’s magnified through the lens. When the film is processed and properly scanned, it rarely needs any adjustments or editing. So, needless to say, we love the colors (it’s far superior to digital), the grain, and ultimately the experience of capturing your day on film.

We are hybrid wedding photographers, which means we shoot digital and film. We currently offer 1-4 rolls of film as add-ons to any of our packages. What you can expect is 36-150 film photos (in addition to a full digital gallery) of highlights from throughout your day. We develop and scan your film. The final photos will be uploaded to your gallery on delivery day.
Do you only shoot film?

We are hybrid wedding photographers, meaning we photograph with both digital and film cameras. We do not currently offer film only wedding photography.
What is the advantage of adding film to our photography package?

Adding film to your photography package depends on personal preference and style. Most couples looking to add film photography to their wedding package are looking for a unique and timeless aesthetic. Rich colors, soft tones, and natural grain, which cannot be replicated with digital cameras are also advantages. Often nostalgia plays a role in it as well. In addition to all of the above, as photographers, we love the precision required to shoot film. Unlike digital cameras, film has a limited number of exposures per roll. This limitation encourages us to be more selective and precise with our shots, resulting in a higher percentage of keepers.
What types of film cameras and equipment do you use?

We work with Contax S2 with Lenses Contax Carl Zeiss 28mm and 50mm, and Canon SLR.
We Develop the films with a Jobo Processor and tank, with Kodak and Fuji Chemicals and Scan the film s with a Noritsu LS600 minicab Scanner from the 2000s.
How many rolls of film do you typically use during a wedding?

It depends on your package. With that said, we guarantee that we'll come prepared and ready with several rolls that can take on different lighting situations, color and B&W. We'll never run out of film.
How do you handle low-light situations with film?

Because film has a wide dynamic range, we usually don't worry about low light situations. Besides that we photograph at night with flash and high ISO film speed. So, low light is not a problem.
What is your film development and post-processing workflow?

After we shoot the films, we label them with the date and name of the couple. We develop all our films with Kodak and Fujifilm chemicals in our Jobo processor and tanks. After development, we let the film dry overnight. In the morning, we scan the film in our Noritsu LS-600 professional film lab scanner. After scanning, the images are lightly edited and uploaded to your online gallery.
How long does it take to receive the final photographs?

We'll likely send you sneaks as soon as we develop and scan the photos, with that said you can expect to receive them on final gallery delivery day.
What happens if a roll of film gets damaged or lost?

Because we hand develop and scan all film ourselves, we trust our process completely. We work with the best Kodak chemicals and products. Something like this happening is nearly impossible.
