Boston Wedding Photographer - Abby Lane
As Boston Wedding Photographers, we’re always delighted to work so close to home. Wedding season usually takes us all over New England, but living in Medford, Massachusetts, it’s awesome when we get to be literally 10-20 minutes away from “work”. 🙂
F & M had eloped earlier in the year in Orlando, a place that has so much meaning to them. More and more we see couples who elope and then get together with a small group of friends and family for a celebration. That’s exactly what F & M did and they chose Abby Lane in the Theater District of Boston for their celebration. Abby Lane has a chic vibe with an upstairs that has plenty of space for mingling and dancing. Downtown Boston has such a fun atmosphere and these two chose an excellent place for casual partying.
The day began with us coming to their home where they were getting ready with family. Since they’d already eloped, they decided that getting ready at home, as one would for a night out in the town, seemed like the best choice for the occasion.
After getting ready, and right in time for golden hour, we took a short drive to Mount Auburn Cemetery for portraits. This may sound like an unusual place for wedding portraits, but the bride suggested it as it holds a very special place in her heart. There was something magical in the air that afternoon. These two were glowing and the lighting was perfection. If you want the perfect lighting for your portrait session (whether wedding or engagement or lifestyle) there is no better time than during golden hour. Couples interested in doing portrait sessions at Mount Auburn should inquire directly with management. You will need a permit and it costs around $150.
After portraits, we headed to Downtown Boston for the reception. When they arrived all of their friends were already there waiting for them. They addressed the guests with a beautiful toast to get things started. Friends and family enjoyed a great meal catered by Abby Lane and signature drinks. The bride is Brazilian and loves traditional Brazilian cakes and sweets, so there were plenty of brigadeiros and beijinhos! After cake cutting friends and family celebrated by dancing the night away!
Congrats Flora and Mustafa! We are so honored to have been your Boston wedding photographer! From your engagement session, to your Orlando elopement and your celebration. I hope you’ll call us when you have babies! 🙂
